Bonkd isn't simplifying — what gives?

PDFs, chrome:// pages, the Chrome Web Store itself, and some banking apps block content scripts. Refresh the page and try again; if it still fails, email us with the URL.

I just enabled auto-bonk and it's not running.

Auto-bonk fires on the next full page load — reload the page once after enabling, then it'll bonk on every future visit to that hostname.

I just upgraded to Pro and the side panel still says Free.

Sign in to the side panel with the Google account you used to subscribe. Pro activates on email match — usually within a few seconds, sometimes up to a minute if Stripe is slow.

How do I cancel Pro?

Open the side panel → footer settings (⚙) → 'Manage subscription'. That opens your Stripe portal — one click and you're out. No retention dark patterns, no "wait, are you sure?" guilt loops.

I want my data deleted.

Email us with your install ID (from the side panel footer) or your Pro email. We'll remove it within 30 days. There isn't actually that much to delete — see the privacy policy for what we hold.

The AI gave me a weird or wrong answer.

It happens. Bonkd is roughly 93% accurate across our test set, which means roughly 1 in 14 paragraphs lands off — usually wrong length, sometimes a dropped name or mangled number. If the simplified version is bad enough that you noticed, flip the toggle back to the original (we never overwrite the page — it's always one switch away). Send us the URL + bonk level and we'll look at it.

Will I get billed if I forget I subscribed?

Stripe emails you a receipt after every successful charge — that's $5/mo until you cancel. If you forget, you'll see it on your card statement and in those receipts. Cancel anytime through the side panel (see above) and Pro stays active through the end of the current month with no further charges.

What does "out of free Bonks this week" mean?

Free tier is 3 distinct articles per week (UTC, resets Monday). Re-bonking the same URL or trying a different level on it doesn't eat another slot — only new URLs do. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited articles, or wait until Monday for the count to reset.

  • Extension bugs (it crashed, a button doesn't work, the side panel hangs)
  • Pro / billing issues (charged twice, can't cancel, Pro not activating after sign-in)

  • Specific pages where simplification fails or looks wrong (send us the URL + bonk level)

No — not what we're for
